1st December - First Frosty Morning of the Year

I was woken up this morning by Tom bringing me a cup of tea in bed, and announcing that it was a frosty morning. I duly got out of bed to confirm this... the view was lovely. I love frosty mornings.

Some one had already got their fire up and running, the smoke was barely moving, I'll be putting our fire on soon as the house is a bit chilly (the down side to frosty mornings)

Christmas Cake

I made the Christmas cake today and the kitchen smells lovely. I just hope that it lasts until Christmas. I use Nigella Lawson's Chocolate Fruit Cake recipe which is fantastically easy. Additionally Tom doesn't like fruit cake so I got the bowl scrapping for once.

I'm Going to Attempt to Keep this Blog Updated

Since I have been on maternity leave I have been browsing the net more frequently before and have come to enjoy reading other peoples blogs, some of them on specific issues, others just a commentary on peoples daily lives. So really I should keep mine updated a bit more.

Revelation from Starbucks - wheat Free Content

ok, I'm a geat fan of coffee, but generally not a great fan of franchise coffee houses. However, as Borders stores in the UK have Starbucks installed in their stores I was drawn to a coffee yesterday whilst in there... and I was amazed.... Starbucks serve a good selection of wheat free cakes and things, I was thrilled, I had a chocolate and orange muffin, it was very nice, along with a grande =skinny latte with a shot of sugar free vanilla ... (what a mouthful)

Oh I'm Still Feeling Bad

It's Wednesday and I'm still feeling rough, I woke up this morning and couldn't stop coughing, it's as though I have something permanently stuck in my chest. I thought I was getting better yesterday but obviously I am not.

Suffering From the Annual Cold

At the moment I am feeling pretty crap as I am curently suffering from a cold, so all of the this weekend has been me feeling pretty sorry for myself.... The time has been useful as I have started watching Season 1 of Angel....one of my christmas pressies.
